Burrata is made by forming a thin pouch of fresh mozzarella and filling it with a mixture of mozzarella pieces and fresh cream. Burrata is best when eaten within a few days of being made and should be served at room temperature to appreciate its fresh milkiness. The name "burrata" refers to the cheese's rich and buttery flavor. Burrata originated from the Puglia region of Italy.
